My Trip to Besta Pizza and Comet Ping PongFuckYoKarmaNigga | 14 points
I spot an unedited logo! Looks like they missed that one.
Stephin-pie | 5 points
Where?
FuckYoKarmaNigga | 7 points
Once it came out that their logo looked suspiciously similar to a known pedo symbol they edited the logo on their website.
My comment was pointing fun at the fact that they didn't update their sign.

Did anyone ever say the she had a fundraiser at Besta?
Attackdog1776 | 7 points
They actually never said where the fundraiser was but most posts I saw was besta.

I live like 5 miles from Comet and wanted to check it out myself. It's just such a creepy situation I definitely want to go during daylight, but if everything is closed during the day (super suspicious) I may rethink it.
mowlio | 1 points
how is it being closed during the day suspicious? It would be more suspicious if it was open. There's no point employing staff to stand around if there is no business.
Ridid | 8 points
I would assume a shitty pizza place would be open for lunch. Pizza's cost like 55 cents for the actual materials and you'd just need a chef and a register person if there is slow business and you'd still make money if anyone came in. If they got 10 customers a day before 5 oclock they'd be able to cover their operating costs. It just seems strange to me.
edit: apparently it may not be unusual for restaurants in the neighborhood not to open until dinner time. this is likely completely irreverent.
mowlio | 5 points
Minimum wage is $9.50 per hour.
Comet is a big place they would employ more than 2 people, there would be at least a manager on too.
And it's not just "actual materials" it shows me how ignorant you are to the restaurant trade, you have to prep food for the coming day/week which means inevitably you will throw food away and then putting costs up. by only being open late it means you are only prepping for what you need.
Ridid | 2 points
I was actually talking about Besta pizza. That's a smaller operation, but fair enough. Probably means nothing, you're right.

I'm not OP, but I plan on visiting tomorrow during the day.

Look for signs of an upstairs entry that could be referenced in the "if you want to live upstairs " picture best a had on the window!!!
Ridid | 2 points
Don't worry I'm gonna go full creeper. I'll post pics from a throw away account over the weekend.
TacoBullets | 3 points
There is nothing weird about that. Down the street there are a bunch of restaurants in Celvand park and Woodley Park area that don't open till later in the afternoon like Spices or Medium Rare or Indique even in downtown there are lots of restaurants that are only open for dinner service so there is nothing "weird" about a late afternoon opening when lots of other places do the same in the city.
gargoyle_mayonnaise | 1 points
Pizza's cost like 55 cents for the actual materials
I hope you mean per slice. A decent pizza (whole pizza) certainly costs more than 55 cents to make. A whole pie might have half a pound or more of cheese on it, that's a couple bucks right there.
Ridid | 1 points
yeah, one slice of pizza at a shitty hole in the wall pizza place probably doesn't have the worlds finest ingredients. But even then, after taking a deep breath and backing away from this rabbit hole for a sec. coming back with fresh eyes and a clean mind makes it seem like not being open until after dinner is likely completely unrelated .... unless the whole thing is a front for something so they don't care about the revenue and just need it to exist but don't want to spend a lot of effort on it. But again, wild speculations with no basis of fact here.
pleasedontsuicideme | 3 points
Forgive me if it is in the pictures, I can't get the full versions to load. Did you see anything with an address that said something along the lines of "leave the pizza at the door and don't knock"?
Attackdog1776 | 8 points
I think that's in comet. I'll go there tomorrow
Bigbenhoward | 6 points
Basic OPSEC, brother, don't announce where you will be ahead of time. Only talk about a mission after it's been completed.
Because we could be waiting there for you...
fronkr56 | 3 points
I saw a guy who parascoped going into both places, the address that he is referring to is in Besta Pizza, the guy who parascoped noted it and was sketched out by it but wasn't able to get the exact address.
pleasedontsuicideme | 2 points
Great, thanks. I have been wanting to go, but I'm broke af and think it would be sus if I went there and looked around taking pictures without buying anything lol
DonaldTrump45thPOTUS | 1 points
If I had more than about 0 dollars I would send you money for a pizza, would be a great investment. Dress up and say you're the health inspector!

Weird. If I had kids, they would go nowhere near that queer looking dude.

Hey, the comet pizza guy had the same orange bracelet on in the diners, drive-ins episode I looked into. I made a post further down. I am not on the laptop,so I can't post the photo now. Orange bracelets possibly something?
onpointe26 | 3 points
This might be old news, but it looks as though Comet Ping Pong was featured on an episode of Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. I haven't tried to watch the episode yet but am curious to. Found a link with the episode description.
Attackdog1776 | 3 points
I'll try to find the episode
FeverishlyYellow | 3 points
I have found it, will report soon if anything suspicious shows up on the episode.
EDIT Okay, so there are some big differences from OP's pictures and how the restaurant looked when the episode of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives (Season 9, EP 9) aired June 28, 2010. We can probably assume this was filmed earlier that year.
Picture of replaced artwork on left wall Compare to OP's picture, these have all been removed.
Close up of a few of the photos in the collage No idea who the people in the photos are, the only clear one is the very top left of the screen shot of a white lady and an young Asian girl. Again, this is not to accuse anyone, I'm just pointing out changes.
Exterior of the restaurant at time of filming
Close up of sign, something written in black on it, differs from OP's picture
Back room with two ping pong tables and a podium with speakers
Take all of this with a bottle of salt, I just wanted to post then vs. now pictures to spur more thought and discussion. There is a very good chance this changes nothing and I am okay with that. I will keep digging, and hopefully everyone else keeps digging as well!

It's shit food and a kids "bar" that's not open at noon. There is something very sketch here and it's all about Comet ...I'll come back soon
tossdat22 | 16 points
You did bring up interesting information and are clearly putting in effort. I apologize for my sarcasm. Everything helps!
Attackdog1776 | 15 points
There is another comet near my work. I'm checking that one tomorrow. You guys are the experts. Tell me what to look for and what to do. Besta is a sick and disgusting place but I could not explore.
rmandraque | 1 points
Just take pictures, honestly, be discreet, but try to cover everything just for the sake of it or if they change anything. Also any certificates or w.e. like the alcohol license can have names and what not that can be useful.

I know, I saw your post. You covered a small amount of the locations. Im just saying, a picture that could mean nothing atm could mean a lot later on. Thank you though, awesome of you to do this.
Attackdog1776 | 1 points
There is something going on with that liquor licence. If it was applied on March. Why is it still up ?
datgoodnooch | 1 points
Apparently, Class C liquor license renewal for restaurants in DC was required before March 31 . They are issued a placard which can be contested within 45 days. Strange that they still have it up. Maybe it was contested for some reason.
Were they serving alcohol?
Attackdog1776 | 1 points
Ping pong was closed when I was there but I can see a fully stocked bar and if you saw that periscope from the other guy he ordered beer. Can we get them on a liquor licence violation?
signlogout | 2 points
I am worrying about you and wanting to say this, don't do it for your safe....at least you souldn't go there directly by yourself.....
C_H_F_ | 1 points
Taking pictures of the front door isn't exactly investigative. We can get that from Google Maps
ThurstonHowell_theIX | 3 points
This is probably nothing ...But after I heard of tunnels and stuff under these places --coincidentally, 1st I heard of this was in Jimmy Commet's own statement to defend himself. Anyway , I decided to look up a map of DC metro subway w/ the streets overlayed. Both Comet and Besta are on Connecticut ave...there's a subway tunnel directly under much of Connecticut avenue. It goes essentially from the capitol ...directly under Connecticut ave...until a block or so from Comet pp. The subway makes a quick sharp left then a right shifts one block to the west) and then back on the same North West track. My thought was that if that subway tunnel extended 1 block it would be directly under Comet PP...Any chance they originally built further (extending under comet) then for some reason backtracked a bit and re-oriented the subway slightly to the left/west...this would leave empty/un-used subway tunnels right below them.
MAP>> https://www.wcl.american.edu/admiss/images/audcmap_big.png
Comet is 1 block north of "VEN NESS" and directly under the 's' in Friendship Heights.
Attackdog1776 | 1 points
I have pictures inside as well. See the posters ? Ping pong was closed. Sorry I didn't do enough for you !
C_H_F_ | 1 points
Not saying you didn't do enough, but there's thousands of people itching for clues, I guess it's just a downer for inconclusive shots
Attackdog1776 | 1 points
Ping pong is where I need to go next. At this point I'd have to assume everything has been cleaned by now
Yahwehs_Servant | 1 points
I believe Comet doesn't open until 5 PM
Attackdog1776 | 1 points
You are correct. I'm just curious why people say it's for kids if it opens so late.
criticalthinker615 | 1 points
We're there any signs of an upstairs section thatcould be accessible?
Attackdog1776 | 3 points
Not at Besta. You couldn't even walk past the counter and there was no bathrooms either. I couldn't go into ping pong because it was closed at noon(strange how it's called a great place for kids)
UnpopularPavilion | 1 points
I've seen the worst of this pizzagate shit. I've seen the horrors and the instagrams and I'm even +2 mutual friends with Alefantis on FB.
this. This is what made me shed my first tear.
sceneredacted | 27 points | Nov 18 2016 06:44:24
The only thing I note here is that Besta's foundation looks like it could have a basement.

Well the delicious "pizza" they love to talk about so much isn't the kind you ordered. The place is a front for child pedophilia/child trafficking, what on earth made you think the food would be any good and why would you eat it in the first place?

You should have asked to use their bathroom. Then if they have one, give it a good inspection, then leave. If not just leave. No need to order from that disgusting place.

permalink
roundhouse1776 | 2 points | Nov 18 2016 18:03:06
Well I'm not going to pretend to be a law expert, but where I live I've seen it from time to time. If you have ever seen the show "Pawn Stars", a lot of the time in the background of the office area you can see a sign that says "No Public Restroom".
Is that place claiming to be family/kid friendly like Comet is? Because if that was the case, then I would find it to be suspicious.
