Diggers - Archive and Screenshot BEFORE sharing links. Don't give them a chance to scrub.

Should make sure you download as well and not just screenshot, people have found some of these jpg files to have hidden data in them and you'd lose that.

Also put anything significantly suspicious or a potential smoking gun you download onto some kind of external memory (flash drive, SD card, external hard drives, etc...) and disconnect it immediately . If the leaked CTR discussion is true that they have access to NSA resources, you don't want your PC or similar device 'online' in the rare chance they just secretly manipulate or remove key information.

Your username is extremely troubling and this is not a new account made for posting in this sub.

It's pretty common on the subreddit for The Office r/dundermifflin , so yeah I guess so? I think you need to take a step back for a minute, I know this is heavy stuff and it can make you a little paranoid.

For the record, I've seen the office so many times I heard Micheal saying it and finished "so they know where my priorities lie"

To an office fan it's the perfect username. Understandably you should make a throwaway to keep the hate down in this sub. Tensions are high.

"At least we know where his priorities are at."

I thought I saw 3 different threads with 3 different examples, but I could be wrong, I didn't investigate.

I hope there are hidden files but I'm just skeptical about it, the only ones I've seen are the message in pizza.jpg that turned out to be a joke from 4chan and then the PK zip marker that was probably due to chance.

Remind us how to archive, please.

permalink

vintagedaisy | 15 points | Nov 12 2016 14:46:56

If you go to archive.is you can copy and paste the URL in there and save. Then you can copy and paste the link generated to share here.

I am a complete noob and was kindly educated by another redditor.

We shouldn't ONLY use archive.is

That would be stupid, make sure to actually screenshot and save on your PC too!!! archive.is can be taken down!

You can also add a bookmark that when clicked will immediately attempt to archive the site you're on. The instructions are on the top right of the main archive.is site.

Could we get this stickied? We are starting to uncover more business partners and such. This couldn't be more vital for a true smoking gun.

Still doesn't help with things like the scrubbed Comet directory with password-protected downloads.

permalink

Haposhi | 1 points | Nov 12 2016 18:15:44

Unfortunately not. Servers with a login or passwords to download won't yield all their secrets unless socially engineered or hacked.

Do we have an alternative to archive.is? How does archive.org grab its images?

It would be foolish to put all our eggs in one basket.

There's a guide here. http://www.labnol.org/internet/archive-web-pages/20192/

Archive.org should work.

You could just save and upload to Mega? It lacks the convenience when searching for a backup of a dead link though.

We also do not want their sites which may log traffic and redirects noticing external traffic.

If you are using firefox/palemoon you can use the Developer console to take a fullpage screenshot as well. Use the following command.

screenshot --fullpage --clipboard

Then paste it in an image editor.
