Guys - We Missed Something in the Comet Pizza Instagram - "Pop-up." THEY ADMIT TO "SEX GAMES" RIGHT IN THEIR ILLEGAL CONSTRUCTION PHOTOS.commetPI | 20 points
A pop-up can also mean a temporary restaurant or business.
WakingJehoober | 17 points
Makes total sense..a pop up restaurant in a 3x3 hole..hmm
tsirolnik | 3 points
A hole refers to a shitty place too. "an unattractive place, such as a town or a dwelling"
Ieuan1996 | 8 points
Except in this case they're literally referring to the hole in the ground they dug
Blaise_Bellaso | 2 points
Good shilling, mate. You and the rest of your friends in this thread calling this weak evidence. Even if this is grasping at straws, unless you're a minimum wage CTR muppet, there's no reason to overreact like this.
tsirolnik | 7 points
So anyone's having a different opinion is a shill? Give me a break
Blaise_Bellaso | 1 points
Not exactly. It might have been my mistake for not making my initial reply clearer, but I said I don't believe this is conclusive evidence either. Still, it could be an interesting lead, and there is absolutely no reason to overreact and brush it off like this.
Besides, in the context of the screenshot, referring to a restaurant just wouldn't fit. And yes, a hole refers to a shitty place too. But it also refers to a - dare I say it - hole in the ground.

This "lead" is a combination of a vauge instagram post and an urban dictionary definition. We have a lot stronger evidence to try to connect the dots with right now.

if they do mean a pop-up shop then it's clearly a joke, but are you imagining them actually setting chairs up in that hole and sitting in a line while people touch them? In a dirty 3x3 hole in the floor?
does that not seem silly?
kidok1 | 17 points
Weak evidence. A pop-up is a temporary location for a business. Clearly just a dumb joke. Keep digging though.

if there's illegal construction, can a DC area pizzagater lodge a complaint with whatever department handles code enforcement?
for anyone wanting to file a complaint or report un-permitted construction, here is DC's Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs
Note: Due to the time-sensitive nature of these appeals, we strongly suggest you hand deliver your appeals form to the Reviewing Official:
Chief Building Official
Department of Consumer & Regulatory Affairs
Inspections Division
1100 4th Street, SW
4th Floor
Washington DC 20024
and also
For questions, please email Sarah Thigpen (Sarah.Thigpen@dc.gov) or Darrell Pope (Darrell.Pope@dc.gov).
I'm on the west coast, but if someone wants to chip in for gas money, I could probably hand deliver a complaint in 3-3.5 days. Of course, if enough of us e-mail a complaint that includes the instagram pics, the bureaucracy would be forced to move. With enough attention/complaints code enforcement will have to do an on-site inspection. We should be sure to recommend inspectors have a police escort.

im guessing .... they may be trying to connect to an underground DC network of tunnels..
ThisMeansGroundWar | 2 points
This is exactly what I was trying to get at. That map shows the path of old underground tunnels in DC, that are no longer officially used for anything.
All these businesses run along this route. I think they're digging to create an underground child trafficking railroad, of sorts - and joking about the abuse in public.

Ok, problem solved.
The other stuff I see in this sub looks promising, but when they mention underpinning , that's strengthening the foundation under where they've dug the hole, although there's also a request for them not to do that (kinda weird).
And the pop-up probably refers to a pop-up floor drain , and since this is a restaurant or bar, that makes sense for a new addition or remodel. It makes it easier to wash down the floors (blood from the sacrifices?).
So this is pretty much a dead end. He just wants to know if there's room enough to add a floor drain in that hole before they fill it and reslab it. At least that's what it appears to be to me.

Room 11 is a trendy hipster bar in DC and the trendy hipster thing to do now is "pop up" restaurants. Informal quickly setup temporary restaurants that are a novelty experience to people into that sort of thing. I don't think this is a plausible lead.
